Historical choice of Russia in the middle of XVII century and consequences of its implementation
This work is devoted to the extremely important problem of Russia's entry into a new era of civilizational development, positioned in historiography as the era of the "New Time". It is known that in the specified period Russia teetered on the threshold of choice. Before her stood a serious problem: what path should choose for its further development – pochvennicheskaya or Westernizing. In this regard, it was necessary to determine a common strategy that would allow the modernization breakthrough in various spheres of life. It is this need for modernization that led to the creation of the conditions under which a new model of its civilizational development began to emerge in Russia.
However, the same need for modernization has sharply put before Russia the problem of preserving its national identity. Considering this problem, the author of the present study poses an important question: is it true that the need for modernisation, which has been developed in Russia since the mid-17th century, should have inevitably led to the loss of the national identity of the Russian people, or could this modernisation have been carried out in any other way that did not lead to this loss, or at least minimized it?
The book is intended for historians, philosophers, culturologists, and for anyone interested in the history of our country.
